About
It’s All About The Presence is an online journey through Advent with the people called Campbell United Methodist Church in Springfield, MO.
Advent is supposed to be a season of great expectancy and mystery. It is a vital time of the Christian year when we are invited to renew our faith and to remember the covenant God made with our ancestors. Each day of Advent offers us new opportunities for growth and struggle, compassion and comprehension, giving and sharing. So, this site begins as one congregation’s response to the richness of this season, and it ends… well, we hope that maybe it doesn’t!
Here’s how it will work: on each day of Advent, beginning Sunday, November 28th, a new post will be made to this site containing one or more prepared submissions from the Campbell UMC congregation and beyond. These posts may be anything from artwork to stories, poetry to prose, scriptures to songs, and are intended to provide a springboard for inspiration, meditation, reflection, devotion, prayer, encouragement, response, and dialogue. Community comments are not just encouraged, but requested!
You may follow our daily postings right here, at itsallaboutthepresence.org, on Twitter, at @thepresenceis, and via Email or RSS by using the subscription options on the right! Also, let us know you’re here on Facebook!
In addition to the daily postings, we would like this site to also provide some additional opportunities for both personal and community spiritual growth during Advent. We would love to make other Advent Books, as well as any relevant devotional or educational links/downloads, available on our Resources page. And we’re hoping to raise awareness of alternative giving opportunities through the ideas being shared on our Alternative Giving page.
The presence of Christ abounds in the community of Christ. And if it’s all about the presence… how can we hold anything back? Share with us. And share this site with others. You can tell people, itsallaboutthepresence.org!
(To reduce spam, comments must be approved and may take a few minutes to show up… please be patient)

A missionary in Dakar Senegal told me about your site!
We serve a wonderful God!
A great God! I hope you are blessed by these daily readings and reflections. It’s so great to know we’re all waiting together… that the presence is the same here and there, now and then. What kind of traditions and preparations do you make during Advent in Senegal?
